Users may delete their account by:
• Navigating to My Profile → Delete Account
• Confirming the deletion request
• Completing phone verification (if required)
Support-assisted deletion may be requested by contacting:
support@hineslaw.com

2. What Data Is Deleted
Within 30 days of a confirmed deletion request, we permanently delete:
• Profile information (name, phone, email)
• App preferences & settings
• Saved media and bookmarks
• Notification preferences
• Login identifiers and authentication tokens
• In-app analytics linked to your identity

3. What Data Is Not Deleted
Due to legal responsibilities, we do not delete:
• Case files
• Case messages
• Documents
• Appointments
• Notes, activity logs, or evidence

These materials are part of your legal matter and are stored securely within Filevine, which
is governed by legal retention requirements.

This data may only be removed per:
• State and federal legal retention laws
• Attorney ethical obligations
• Hines Law’s internal data retention policy

4. Irreversible Deletion
After account deletion:
• You cannot log back in
• You cannot retrieve deleted app data
• You must re-register if you return
• SMS-based verification will create a new profile

5. Backup & Archival Data
System backups may retain encrypted, non-accessible copies of your deleted data for up
to 90 days for disaster recovery.

These backups are not used for any operational purpose.

6. Fraud, Security, and Compliance Holds
We may delay deletion when:
• Your account is under investigation
• Fraud or abuse is suspected
• There are outstanding legal obligations
• Your attorney instructs us to retain data

7. SMS Authentication Messages

• We may send one-time password (OTP) authentication codes to the mobile phone number associated with your account to verify your identity and protect account access.

• By providing your mobile phone number within our app, you consent to receive SMS messages strictly for login authentication and account security purposes.

• Message frequency may vary depending on your login activity or verification requests. Standard message and data rates may apply.

• You can opt out of receiving SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message. Reply HELP for assistance.

• Please note that opting out may limit or prevent access to your account or certain features that require SMS verification.

• We use mobile phone numbers solely for authentication and security purposes and do not use or share them for marketing or promotional communications.

• For any questions regarding SMS communications, please contact us at: info@hineslawapp.com
